Course description:  Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, our soccer program will help you improve your skills and technical training. Join NDA Varsity Soccer Interns, who will be overseen by former D1 soccer player and NDA coaches, for fun training and competition in a supportive environment.

Who Should Take This Course:   Open to girls entering grades 2-8.

Course description:  As a BLI Summer Intern, rising juniors and seniors will hone their leadership and mentoring skills as they help incoming, prospective, and current NDA students discover new interests and talents, build self-confidence and efficacy and create friendships and community during Summer@NDA programming in Academics, Athletics, STEM, and Visual and Performing Arts.

The BLI Internship application opens on April vacation 2023. All students and parents will receive an email announcing a call for applications. Who Should Take This Course:   Open to rising junior and senior NDA students who want to be part of the next generation of women leaders at NDA.

Course description:  This intensive, four-day boot camp is a continuation of the academic year guidance curriculum and is therefore complimentary to rising seniors. Specific logistical information will be announced by the Department of School & College Counseling in late winter/early spring. The College Admissions Boot Camp is designed to guide students through completing the Common Application and brainstorming, outlining and drafting the Common Application essay. Additional key focus areas are: college outreach, campus visit and interview preparation, supplemental essay organization/strategy and creating a personalized summer “roadmap” for the college application process. Students sign up for one session only.

Who Should Take This Course:   All rising NDA seniors.

Course description:  Have you ever wondered how a Catapult works? Or how to build a bridge? This one-week course will enhance your geometry, physics, technology, math, and general science knowledge. It will emphasis the Engineering Design process and will consist of all hands-on activities. 

Who Should Take This Course:   Any rising grade 7-9 student

Course description:  Addicted to watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Riverdale and NCIS? Learn how law enforcement experts process a crime scene and gain hands-on experience with fingerprints, hair and fiber analysis, dental impressions and much more.

Course description:  Ever wonder what it’s like to be a physician or surgeon? Gain an introduction to how the body works. Participate in problem-based learning taught in medical school by doing simulated surgeries, biopsies, suturing and more

Course description:  Students will explore the craft of creative writing by refining and expanding their English language arts skills. Students will hone their application of writing mechanics through daily exercises. Through the close reading of various poets and creative writing pieces, they will develop their skills as close readers. Students will put these practices to use through daily creative writing prompts, including personal narratives, poetry, creative writing prompts, and more.

Who Should Take This Course:   Any rising grade 7th-9th grade student wishing to strengthen her creative writing skills in preparation for the year ahead.

Course description:  Dance Discovery students will learn new artistic and physical skills by exploring various dance styles and creative choreography. Students will begin each class with physical exercise and ballet-based technique exercises. Students will then explore movement exercises from ballet, jazz, modern, and contemporary styles. Each class will include daily choreography exercises, including student choreography and popular dance trends (including TikTok!). Dance Discovery Workshop is open to students with either previous or no dance training—all are welcome.

Who Should Take This Course:   Any rising grade 7th-9th grade student who wants to explore the world of dance and have fun.

Course description:  Want to paint "en pleinaire?" Or paint a still-life using acrylics? Let’s do both in this studio art class, where we will practice using our observational skills by painting a landscape in watercolor outside “en plein aire”, and a still- life in studio using acrylic paints on canvas!

Who Should Take This Course:   This course is for high school students grade 9-12. All skill levels welcome and no previous painting experience is required!
