The Big and Little Sister Program pairs 10^th graders with 7^th graders so that the new students will have a friendly contact to help them transition to NDA. Both Big and Little Sisters learn from each other during the year and the program has provided an opportunity for growth and understanding at both grade levels.

Peer Mentors, comprised of juniors and seniors, play a major role in setting a welcoming tone for the school. The Peer Mentors are carefully selected to serve in freshman homerooms to help make the transition to NDA go smoothly. They answer questions, give advice, and introduce them to new friends. The Peer Mentors also arrange special programs including orientation, freshman day, and evening events with boys' schools.
