Belonging at NDA

Student Council: plans events for the student body. Student leadership meet regularly with moderators and administrators to help communicate what students want and need and provide a pulse on the student body.

Women for Change: provides students with the opportunity to discuss issues of faith and social justice in our society today. Participants discuss the positive way they can make change in their community through roundtable discussions.

International Culture Club: shares various traditions and cultures from around the world with students on a weekly basis. Meetings feature games and contests, interesting facts, and always food and beverages to sample. 

Language Clubs: provide students the opportunity to learn more about a language they are studying in terms of geography, culture and customs. Clubs are offered for French, Spanish, Mandarin and Latin.

 

Students of Color Allies (SOCA): provides space for our students of color to have a voice, within our school and community and feel welcome. Participants reflect on their personal experiences and consider how they can share their learning to bring about positive change in their communities.

 Always God’s Children: provides pastoral support for young women in various stages of awareness and openness regarding their sexual orientation. Open to high school students.

 

Campus Ministry Outreach: builds empathy and community among girls as they support groups who are often voiceless: the homeless, elderly, those with special needs.

Culture Day: celebrate diversity as students, faculty, and staff share examples of cultural heritage with the school community.

Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice: empowers and inspires students attending the conference by reinforcing the link between faith and justice. The conference strengthens their ability to serve as school leaders for social justice.

AISNE Conference: cultivates diversity as an essential part of our learning environment.  Students participate in AISNE’s students of color conference.

Advisory: Teachers dedicate advisory and flex time to explore the history of cultures in line with heritage months.

Language Week: World Language Department organizes activities and opportunities for students to learn more about the cultures tied to language of classroom focus.

 

Faculty Staff: engages NDA faculty and staff in professional development that builds cultural understanding and informs curriculum development.

NDA Parent Diversity Alliance: supports initiatives and events that promote the appreciation of the gifts of diversity, deepening our connectedness as a community.
