Scholarship Applications

Deadline: Friday, January 27, 2023 at 3 p.m.

There are eight scholarships which require essay applications. Please review the criteria below to see if you are a potential candidate and click on the links to submit the application and upload your essay. 

Jessica Bradbury Adams ’97 Scholarship Jessica Bradbury Adams '97 was a beloved NDA coach, mentor, alumna, and friend. This scholarship will support an NDA junior athlete who gives back to her community, exhibits qualities of a mentor to other student-athletes and demonstrates sportsmanship on and off the playing field.

The NDA Boosters Scholarship is awarded annually to two student-athletes in their junior year who best exemplify the program’s belief in a “Christ-like attitude above winning at any cost.”

Erin and Allison Darling Scholarship – This scholarship is awarded to current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors from Pembroke in memory of two former NDA students, Erin and Allison Darling who passed away in 1999.

Catherine H. Doyle Memorial Scholarship - The recipient of this scholarship is chosen from applicants from the current junior class who possess a love of literature. Catherine Doyle was one of the first lay teachers at NDA. A mother of four graduates she taught English for more than 30 years.

Paul and Helen Ganley Scholarship is awarded to a current freshman, sophomore, or junior student who is in good academic standing who has an affinity for English, world languages, or mathematics. Established by Mary Ganley Montanari ’71, this fund honors the lives of her parents, Paul and Helen.

Brian Gaughan Memorial Scholarship – Current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors living in Scituate or Marshfield may apply. Established by the Gaughan family in memory of Brian, many family members are NDA alumnae; his mother Barbara Hession Gaughan ’41, his sister-in-law Kathy Fenn Gaughan ’73, and his niece Molly Gaughan ‘06.

Will McDonough Scholarship – Members of the current junior class who participate on one or more sports teams may apply. The McDonough family established this scholarship to honor the life of sportswriter Will McDonough. His sisters, Margaret McDonough and Sister Martina McDonough, SNDdeN were devoted teachers at NDA. Will’s daughters Erin ’82 and Cara ’01 are graduates of NDA.

Kristin Mooney Willer ’88 Legacy Scholarship - In Memory of Kristin Mooney Willer ’88, this scholarship will support a student who is academically committed and maintains a 3.3 GPA. Kristin was known for her uncommon kindness. Applicants are asked to write an essay about bringing more kindness into the world.

Scholarship recipients will be notified by mail by end of March.

Please note that NDA awards a number of additional scholarships that do not require applications. Recipients for those scholarships are chosen by the Academy’s Scholarship Committee and are based on the criteria established by the benefactor of each fund.
