Science

The Science Department curriculum is designed to give students a foundation in the life and physical sciences through a program that requires biology and chemistry and offers advanced electives in biology, chemistry, and physics. These courses develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and logical reasoning in such a way that students can look critically at the world and make sense of issues related to ecology, the environment, and concerns related to health and medicine. The curriculum also develops an understanding of the scientific method and analytical thinking related to good scientific inquiry. The course of study provides students who are interested in pursuing a career in science with a solid background for advanced placement courses and college work.
