Students are encouraged to join NDA's A Cappella Choir, Festival Choir, or Instrumental Ensemble.

• Music students perform twice a year in both a winter concert and a spring concert, where their talents are showcased for the entire school community

• All students in the music ensembles are eligible to participate in the Southeastern District and All-State auditions and music festivals.

• A Talent Expo each year allows all students in the music department to choose a piece to perform and showcase their talent, either solo or in a small group. Popular choices include pop, Broadway, and classical pieces.
  
• In conjunction with the Theatre Department, the Music Department mounts a full scale musical each school year.
  
• Students can earn a membership to the Tri-M National Music Honor Society through participation in the NDA music program, and additional musical activities that occur outside of the school day.
