In the spirit of giving, you can also help by supporting the Bakhita House, an organization that provides a safe haven in the Boston area for women over age eighteen who are victims of human domestic and international trafficking. Our Sisters, including Sr. Mary Janice, have asked for help by way of donating gift cards for places like CVS, Marshall's, TJMax, Target or a VISA type card since many of these women have nothing. These cards can be dropped off or sent to NDA c/o Sr. Mary Janice at 1073 Main Street, Hingham, MA 02043 by December 7. Thank you!

The 1804 Challenge
Founded in 1804, the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur exist due to an improbable friendship between St. Julie Billiart and Françoise Blin de Bourdon. Through this special bond a deep commitment to educating young women was born.
President Annemarie Lynch Kenneally '80 P'13 '15 kicked off an exciting new initiative this year called The 1804 Challenge – were the Academy has set a goal of 1,804 donations for the year. Thank you to the 98 alumnae who have already made a financial gift to the Fund for NDA. Lisa Graham Ballantyne '93 was one of three finalists for The Excellence in Business Awards (Ebbies). The Ebbies were created in 1991 by the Chamber to honor San Francisco businesses for their innovation; they are widely regarded as the top business awards program in the Bay Area. Next week, Emily Torsney '14 will graduate from from the Coast Guard Officer Candidate School in New London, CT. She is one of 26 females in a class of 91 Officer Candidates. Officer Candidate School (OCS) is a highly specialized, 17-week course of instruction in leadership, management, navigation, law enforcement, and military subjects. OCS is a rigorous course of instruction that prepares candidates to serve effectively as officers in the United States Coast Guard. To read more about the program, click here.

Chicago at NDA
This past weekend, Notre Dame Academy International Thespian Troupe #7966 and student director Clare Adamczyk '19 (daughter of Amanda Condon Adamczyk '93) proudly presented Chicago!
And what a show it was! Congratulations on such an amazing show -- to quote a few audience members, "I was in awe of the girls... I was blown away ... What a fantastic production! All I can say is WOW!"
Sophomore Ellie de Andrade was recently featured in the October edition of Sports Illustrated Kids. Ellie was the 2018 top player on the NDA Varsity Golf Team and instrumental in their Divison I MIAA Golf title. Go Ellie!

Lego Robotics
On Wednesday, November 7, we were so fortunate to have NDA alumna and current parent Mrs. Anne Marie O'Connor Clogston '87 P`20 lead our Lego Robotics meeting!
Anne Marie is a software engineer and Lego Robotics coach. She is a strong female role model in the engineering field who is passionate about the NDA Lego Robotics program as well as launching a Cuvilly version of the program.
NDA at JFK: Democracy in Action
On Tuesday, October 16 Chair of the Massachusetts Republican Party Kirsten Hughes '95 and John Walsh led a workshop that included a gubernatorial debate at the JFK Library. NDA students participated by coming up with the questions to ask the debaters. Hughes and Walsh represented the Baker and Gonzalez campaigns. It was an exciting day of civic engagement!
Exciting Job Opportunity – Staff Accountant
NDA is seeking to fill a full-time Staff Accountant position. The Staff Accountant is a member of the Business Office team and will report directly to the CFO. The primary responsibilities are to support the day to day functions of the Business Office. This individual must be a problem solver who is an organized, detail-oriented team player, and have the ability to be flexible and multi task with accuracy. Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done.
