Athletics 

We offer freshman, junior varsity, and varsity levels based on participation in each sport. There are 19 programs over the course of the fall, winter, and spring seasons. Students are encouraged to participate in athletics either competitively or to simply be involved. Approximately 90% of NDA students participate in athletics during some point in the school year.

In athletics, our mission is to “To place emphasis on a Christ-like attitude above winning at any cost, while continually evaluating the athletic program in terms of the educational purpose of our institution”.

At NDA, we believe a well-run athletics program reflects the mission of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur to prepare girls for life. Our program complements our school’s goals for a holistic education. Athletics promote a sense of community that fosters leadership, discipline, commitment, and a deep sense of responsibility. Through athletics, girls learn to collaborate, build sportsmanship, embrace the process of improvement, and develop desirable personal health habits. 

Cuvilly students are welcome to try out for any athletic team. Some sports have Cuvilly-specific teams, but all levels are open to middle school athletes based on ability. 

In the designated Cuvilly athletic program, our goal is to provide an opportunity for every interested student to play on a team. The emphasis at this level is on instruction, development, teamwork, fair play, and sportsmanship. Participation is a key component for Cuvilly student-athletes as well as development of the student-athlete as a whole. These programs are designed as instructional. At this level, it is anticipated that all team members will play in every game.
