The panel opened with our NDA alumnae emphasizing the increased independence, self-guided learning, and importance of personal accountability that comes with the college experience. All the recent graduates reassured the seniors that the academic transition becomes increasingly manageable over time — and that NDA has prepared them well.

Beyond academics, alumnae addressed common challenges like roommate dynamics and feelings of uncertainty, reminding students that these experiences are universal and only temporary. They urged the soon-to-be college students to “say yes” to new opportunities and step outside their comfort zones as they embrace the journey of growth.

Each of the alumnae spoke about the confidence with them as they started college. Perhaps Ellie Dillon ’23 summed it up best when she told the seniors, “Take comfort in the confidence you gained at NDA as you constantly raised your hand and answered questions. That same confidence will be with you when you're in a large college lecture hall. It’s a huge benefit!”
