Goals were scored by Isabella O'Connor, Lexi Lenaghan, Keeley MacAfee, Alex Dalton, Charlotte Allard, Kelsey Bowen, and Catherine McAuley. Hanna Cooper had another outstanding performance in goal with 8 saves. Thank you to everyone for your unending support.

Athletes: Every summer, student-athletes from MIAA member schools have the unique opportunity to network with students from Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont at the annual New England Student Leadership Conference. The third annual event will be conducted in the summer of July 16-19, 2013. Students who are entering grades 10, 11, or 12 in the fall of 2013 are encouraged to apply for a spot in this conference. Applications can be found on the MIAA website under Educational Athletics-Leadership. Deadline is May 24, 2013

 

For Any and All Interested Students:   Cross-Fit Tuesdays: Lindsey Johnson, whom you met at “Healthy You” Day, wants to see you at Cross-Fit One at a state-of-the-art facility at Reebok in Canton for NDA's own session. We will go to Cross-Fit every Tuesday through the end of the school year as long as we have interested, committed students to participate.   Transportation for the first 15 students to register will be provided to Cross-Fit leaving NDA at 3:00 and returning by about 5:00. Sign-up in the main office by Wednesday for the next Tuesday session, and get a permission slip for each day you want to go. Come just one Tuesday, or every Tuesday!

Sail Team: finishes up their representation at the MBL championships today at Boston Community Boating on the Charles River. Congratulations to our sailors!

JV Tennis: NDA 3   Scituate 2

For the first time in first singles, Maggie DiPesa was victorious, as were Shannon Benoit and Paige DiNatale in their singles matches. The doubles teams played well in their close matches.

Varsity Tennis: NDA 0   Scituate 5

League record 6-2, overall 8-5.  We clinched a playoff spot and have 3 matches left in regular season play. 

Varsity Lacrosse: NDA 18       King Phillip Regional High   3

At this game we honored our six seniors: Meg Ayers, Amelia Brown, Alex Dalton, Julia Simmons, Mariel Teague and Maddie Vazza for their achievements and dedication to the lacrosse program over the past four years. Fittingly, each of these six netted at least one goal in the game today.   Thank you to our great seniors! NDA is now 17-2.

Track and Field: NDA wins the “Last Change to Qualify” Meet with 127 points

Individual winners were Shauna Owen, Abby Concannon, Julia Marshall and Isabella DiMare.

Relay winners were Amanda Reilly, Isabella Dimare, Gabby Kenyon, Abby Concannon

Attention All: During last February vacation, 18 NDA students went to Costa Rica. During their trip, they went to an orphanage for girls between the ages of 4 and 18. This Thursday, May 23, there will be a dress down day. Please dress down and bring a minimum donation of $1. Student representatives will be coming around the home rooms Wednesday and Thursday morning to collect the donations. All proceeds will go directly to the orphanage to help them build a soccer field where the girls will be able to have fun, build friendships, and exercise."

Goals were scored by 8 different players. Alex Dalton led all scorers with 5 goals. Every player contributed to the win as the defense caused 19 turnovers and our offense finished on almost all of our opportunities!

Varsity Lacrosse: NDA 18      Andover High 6

We are now 15-2 and our next game is Saturday at Hanover High School at 12:00pm. Offense was lead by Charlotte Allard with 5 goals, followed by Isabella O'Connor and Lexi Leneghan who each netted 4 goals. NDA won 17 out of 26 draw controls allowing us to maintain possession of the ball and control the pace of the game. Great effort by all, especially after our seniors were dismissed for Baccalaureate!

Tennis: NDA defeated Mt. Alvernia in two separate matches.

NDA 3 Mr. Alvernia 0 with wins from Amanda Garrow and Abby Carrier in singles and Hannah Pasqualucci and Sarah Varney in doubles.  Winning the second match up by a score of 4-1 were Meg Golden, Amanda Garrow and Haley Gaudreau in singles and the doubles team of Maggie Lewis and Meg Faherty.
